Sega CD System - Video Game Console First CD video game system by SEGA.
Customer Review: Underrated & Overlooked
I have seen reviews for this system yes it has it’s goods and bads but truly had 5 or 6 games worth having. Mortal Kombat was a good port The Terminator Sonic CD Lethal Enforcers Ground Zero Texas Now Night Trap it’s suppose to be cheesy it was made in the early 90’s. Snatcher I would like but it’s expensive I ain’t busting all that money for a 14 year old game even if it’s great. Surprise got it for Christmas! . People run around and call Sega CD a failure but the 100,000 units that were released sold out in 2 2 /3 months and sold 6 millon when all was said and done not a wild success like SNES but it didn’t fail not good not bad just lukewarm sales. But 2 years later Sega would release 32X yes that was a big failure check my 32X review out on my view of that add on it’s kinda brutal I show no love for it either now back to Sega CD. If you are interested in fmv games or games that play like arcade games give this extremely underrated sega add on a shot if it’s for a decent price $35 to $45 try it out.
Customer Review: Poor guy never got a chance. :(
While I can’t stand the way Sega killed off their console marketshare with shoddy peripherals like the Sega 32x, I can’t really berate the Sega CD. In all fairness, CD attachments were expected to be quite fashionable at the time– The Turbo GrafX 16 and Atari Jaguar had them, and Nintendo was working with Sony to develop one for Super NES (which would later be released alone as the Playstation after Nintendo pulled out of the partnership). Then of course you had the Phillips CDI and a few other random CD-related doo-dads that never caught on. The CD age was coming, and everyone wanted to get their foot in the door early.

The N64=the best videogame system on the market at the price! Its controller is awesome! The games……The best ones in the world! The system is so lightweight and so…friendly. This system is a very “fun” system. The only problem I have with it is that for many games you have to stock up on memory paks.

Jet Moto 2 Jet Moto 2 suffers from many of the same problems as the first Jet Moto. While it is basically just a racing game with an aerial twist, overall playability suffers due to the difficulty of turning at high speeds. As before, different racers ride on aerial jet bikes. Each character has a corporate sponsorship and a different set of advantages and disadvantages. However, no character is easy to master. In addition, you must come in first in each race to advance beyond the first three races. This is plenty difficult, and the muddy graphics don’t help much. While the courses add interesting elements such as water, lava, and other obstacles, the proper pathway is often unclear due to poor graphics or badly designed levels.

Overall, this is a fun racing game for the hard-core racing fan, but those who really want to fly are better off with something that offers clearer graphics. Another problem stems from the fact that if you knock another racer off his or her cycle, but the cycle goes forward, then the recent victim of your assault starts where his or her cycle stops. This location is usually in front of you. So it’s actually better not to hit them at all. The lack of replays in this version is helpful, and Jet Moto fans will appreciate the upgrade. Still, for a really stellar racing game, look elsewhere. –Allen Stewart

Pros:

  • No boring replays
  • Better graphics than the first Jet Moto
  • A real challenge to win
  • Fun tricks possible

Cons:

  • Jet bike is too hard to control
  • View is awkward and at times confusing
  • Unclear levels–where’s the finish line?

Customer Review: Great
This game shows its age in a few ways, but is still a great game in many respects. The skill level required is high and the game provides hours of gameplay because of this. The realistic physics also make this game very worthwhile. A nostalgic favorite for me that I had great fun replaying.
Customer Review: Great Memories of this Game!
I remember every one of them. Action-packed levels, scenic ambiences, adrenaline-pumping music–all in Jet Moto 2. I cannot stress the creativity of the levels—how did they come up with this stuff!! It’s amazing! Like one level you’ll be looping around a roller coaster type track. Then, later in the game, there’s a track called ‘Nightmare’—what a dark, gloomy, horrifying track!! It’s like you’re on this platform in the middle of darkness and you get run over and fall into this huge, dark pit! The Antarctica levels are the greatest of them all. Have you ever heard the music?? The best part about it. It’s orchestrated, symphonic, heart-racing music. I wish I knew which philharmonic group made this music–it’s brilliant. Other levels have orchestrated music too–it’s great to listen to. Some of the other levels have rock/orchestra balanced music, so it’s not all the same.
